Aiden said nothing as Courtney assumed out loud that it was her that had done something wrong. He turned around and watched her back as she walked toward her horse. He almost thought that it would be for the best if she just left then and never returned. But just then she turned and ran to him. He was surprised at her action. No girl had ever come running back to him. He smiled and opened up his arms in embrace. He buried his face in her blond hair, taking in the sweet scent. He almost felt a tear in his eye. She didn't understand.
Courtney...you don't understand...it's not you, it's me. I don't know how to explain the way I feel to you. It's complicated, but I don't want you to get hurt. You seem too good for me.
Aiden's stomach jumped at his own words. He'd never told a girl how he'd felt before. That sentence was probably the most tender one he'd ever uttered. He crossed his fingers, hoping that she might understand or have a way to fix it all. He held her tightly, wincing at the feeling in his heart. She'd be furious if he told her the reason.

Grabing a pen and paper out of her back pocket. writing her number and her house address on it. Tossing it back to him. She forced a smile, but sucked in her lips and cantered Riviaro away. She knew he would come to her house, somthing told her that.
